Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury
Humana Military Healthcare Services is pleased to sponsor two new continuing medical education topics for physicians, covering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Civilian providers are not well versed in diagnosis and treatment of PTSD and TBI, but these diseases are prevalent in civilian populations and are of increasing importance as active duty, reserve, and guard troops return from war with these problems, which may go undetected.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Objective #1: Describe the signs and symptoms of TBI and PTSD. Outcome: Diagnose TBI and PTSD or a combination of both disorders.
Objective #2: Identify the physiological and psychological processes associated with TBI and PTSD. Outcome: Diagnose, treat, or prevent the physiological and psychological conditions associated with TBI and PTSD.
Objective #3: Discover the most effective interventions/treatment options for TBI and PTSD. Outcome: Prepare and implement the most appropriate TBI and PTSD treatment plan based on the evidence-based information.
